Happy Spring! or Fall! English Weather Vocabulary Well, today is the first day of spring for me and all of us who live in the Southern hemisphere, it is fall to all the Northern hemisphere folks (slang for people). As I was taking my daily subway ride to the school where I teach I noticed that everyone had flowers, except me (boo!). I asked at the school, and I was told that in Argentina the first day of spring is marked or celebrated my giving flowers and having a picnic. What a nice tradition! So I thought that I would take this occasion to talk about the weather.The table below will explain the basic English Weather Vocabulary.[table id=2 /]Note that we always use THE when we talk about the sun.We treat the active weather like rain and snow differently than the inactive weather.Below is a poem about spring.
